GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) Sheeting
The appeal of this product is that it is multi-faceted and can cover a varied range of applications. GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) comes in wide range of colours desired by the client and profiles i.e. 26mm 38mm and 50mm box profile and 3-4mm sheets.
Properties of GRP include being light-weight whilst possessing extreme strength meaning it can span large areas, has an anti-slip profile, can be cut and drilled easily for seamless application and is extremely durable (it cannot rot and can therefore be submersed in sea water).
The case study photos shown include both theme park platforms the revolution and Blackpool Pleasure Beach's newest ride Infusion. The Revolution's elevated loading and unloading platform consisted of a combination of timber planks and metal checker plate and was refurbished with grey/blue 50mm anti slip GRP with yellow safety nosings indicating the edge of the platform. Black anti-slip 38mm GRP forms the walkway on Infusion suspended above the water to an aesthetically pleasing but purely practical medium.
