The floor area inside the main entrance of Sandcastle Waterworld in Blackpool was a tiled surface about 25 years old. Many of the tiles were damaged and it looked very old and worn. Sandcastle Waterworld wanted a modern bright hardwearing pump screed floor that looked like a beach on either side with a river walkway in the middle. The surface had to be safe when wet and also be easily cleanable.
All the tiles were removed and the top layer of screed was removed. A polymer screed was pumped into the floor and laid to the required fall. A high build epoxy resin screed was laid onto a damp proof membrane dressing. The surface was given an anti-slip texture but incapsulated to enable easy cleaning. The whole job was completed within six days to give as little inconvenience and down time as possible.
