At Mark 11 Distribution there were severe problems within the aisles of the warehouse due to the damaged and undulating flooring surface. Fork lift trucks and pallet trucks operated within this area and were unable to run over the floor in the condition it was. Mark 11 were very busy moving stock into this newly acquired site and as such were only able to let MSC have the floor area over a weekend to lay the screed floor.
Maintenance Supplies Contracts installed a 55 Newton/mm2 floor in a weekend. We first vacuum shot blasted the floor and cut a 'toe in' joint around the perimeter of the floor area. We then primed the floor and in filled all the deeper areas of up to 60mm with base screed. We then applied a 5 to 10mm layer of industrial top screed over the whole area to give a super hard wearing level surface. The screed is dry for foot traffic in 3 hours and was back in service for truck traffic for Monday morning. The whole job was carried out in a weekend. Our new pump can move 100 tonnes of screed per hour which can cover 2000 meters per day. We would still be delighted to pump a 50m2 floor if required.
