What they needed Leoni Temco is a major provider of products and solutions for energy and data management in a variety of sectors – particularly the automotive sector. This means that there is a use of chemicals in their production methods that can cause damage to flooring. There was an area of bunded flooring that had been damaged by aggressive chemicals. The existing coatings on the floor had been stripped off, and the concrete beneath had been damaged in the process. This left an area that was thoroughly in need of refurbishment. What we did Leoni Temco needed a flooring specialist who could refurbish the area within the bund. We first needed to prepare the area that had been damaged by the chemicals. We did so with a diamond grinder to reduce the flooring down to a layer that we could build upon. Then, we needed to reinstate a floor, which we achieved with a 9mm resin Anti-Slip Screed system. After this had cured, we needed to coat the entire area with a chemical resistant multi-coat resin system. This was specially designed and chosen to stand up to the sort of chemicals that would be present in the bund. We needed to work to a short schedule in order to maintain the use of chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
