Case Study #25

Star Case Study

What they needed

An engineering company took over an old vegetable packaging company premises to manufacture foundry manufacturing parts. The floor is 2600m2 and needed a flat and cleanable surface resistant to oil spillages. Whilst the surface was flat the expansion joints had eroded and there were a lot of holes and studs in the floor.

What we did

Maintenance Supplies Contracts first vacuum shot blasted the surface in a single day. This opened up all the joints to reveal the extent of the damage to be repaired. The bolts were all cut off to below the floor level and all the holes and joints were levelled with a resin mortar/filler.
The floor was then given two coats of Grip-Seal, a high build epoxy resin. This is resilient to oil and is anti-slip when clean. It is an easy to maintain surface being resistant to all chemical cleaners and mechanical cleaning machines.
