What They Needed Boohoo is a major provider of ‘fast fashion’. They specialise in low cost clothing that is sent out quickly after online purchases. In a large distribution centre in Burnley 2500 operatives work 24/7 to get up to 350,000 items sent out daily. They needed safety walkways installing in case of a fire to help people evacuate the building. However, due to the fast turn arounds that the company works to, only small areas could be cordoned off at any one time. To make matters more difficult there was no power available for the preparation equipment and trailing power leads could not be tolerated due to the movement of goods around the areas. What We Did Maintenance Contracts Ltd operatives set up small working areas using an LPG generator to power the grinder and vacuum. We used a super-fast curing MMA Resin system which enabled us to install both 3 coats of green resin and yellow border lines within a day. This was essential, as it released these areas for immediate use. The initial program of works saw 515 linear meters of walkways installed over a 2-week period. More work is to follow after this successful installation. Client Feedback Boohoo were happy with the finish and effectiveness of the new floor marking system that we fitted for them.
