A vacuum shot blast is used to remove an existing coating on a floor and to create a keyed profile to the existing smooth floor. The blast machine is a driven walk behind specialist piece of equipment. The process is as follows :
While travelling with the machine a butterfly valve is opened releasing steel shot onto a propelled wheel fitted with blades that ejects the shot onto the floor at high speed, recycling itself back into the hopper while, separating from the debris being removed from the floor which is vacuumed into the dust collection unit. The floor is left with a clean profiled finish which is determined by the client as to there requirements. Any surplus shot left on the floor is removed using a magnetic sweeper. The floor is then swept to remove any remaining dust/debris.
